Wheel alignments or tire alignments are procedures that can help your vehicle handle better on the road and also help your tires last longer and perform better. When a service technician does an alignment, with the help of a machine, your vehicle’s suspension system is adjusted. This also adjusts the angles in which your tires touch the road.

Wheel alignments should be performed any time you’ve had new or different tires installed or the vehicle has been in an accident. Even without these two occurrences, an alignment should be done every six months according to many service technicians. Some signs you may need an alignment include:

  • The vehicle vibrates when you’re driving down the road.
  • The vehicle pulls to one side of the road or the other.
  • If you let go of the steering wheel, the vehicle doesn’t stay in the center.
  • Your tires are exhibiting uneven wear.
